Travel Guide Tela

Located 90 km east of San Pedro Sula in the department of Atlántida, Tela is a clean and quiet Caribbean city with relatively little tourism. The surroundings (parks, gardens, beaches) are beautiful enough to warrant a stop of a few days. The Garifuna coastal villages are destinations that are popular with peanuts. Much more calm and informal than La Ceiba.The name "Tela" comes from the contraction of "Triunfo de la Cruz"; a village bearing this name (now moved more to the east) was indeed there, before the banana saga transformed it into a coastal coastal town.
