Located around 15 km from Dandriga, Tobacco Caye is a small island of around 1 km². There are a handful of hotels here, at more affordable rates than elsewhere, and it's also quiet enough to feel away from it all. The island is part of the South Water Caye Marine Reserve, so fishing is very closely supervised. Once you've arrived on the island, the first thing to do is take off your shoes, and adopt a very slow pace. As elsewhere, with the exception of fishing and diving, there's not much to do here, so a good aperitif and a book are never too much.
