Situated on the first hills of Romagna at an altitude of 247 m, this charming medieval village is considered the belvedere of Romagna for the view that, from the panoramic terrace at the top, embraces the landscape as far as the Adriatic Sea. The Sangiovese, Trebbiano and Albana wines are widely produced in the estates of the municipality. The town is also a renowned university centre: since 1994 La Rocca has been home to the University Residential Centre of the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna, used for training courses, seminars, work meetings and cultural initiatives both public and private.
