Located on the main road from Colombo to Kandy, between Pinnawalra-Kegalle and Kandy. We stop in Kadugannawa for its National Railway Museum, inaugurated in late 2014. The city is also famous for a funny site: a rock dug during the construction of the road in 1820, the Kaduganna Pass. Local folklore tells that it would be a symbolic work of the British. Indeed, an ancient Sinhalese prophecy says that it is not possible for foreigners to rule Kandy, unless they break through the mountains! And the British were indeed the first foreigners to occupy Kandy permanently..
