Hooglede is the result of the merger of two municipalities: Hooglede-Centre and Gits. Hooglede is a small town in West Flanders, north-east of Ypres, where life goes smoothly. It's good to get lost in the charming alleys of the town. To enjoy a beautiful panorama, you can climb to the top of the church tower. The view is so clear that the church tower was an important lookout post for the Germans during the two world wars. Also make a detour to the military cemetery, with its 8,247 headstones. The panoramic view of the surroundings is also impressive
