Welcome to Mrs. Sans-Gêne's home village! Marie-Thérèse Figueur was born in Talmay in 1774. This sucker's daughter, with a trempé character, served in the revolutionary and imperial armies, first as a cantinière and then as a soldier, not hesitating to go to the battlefield. Several times wounded, she was made prisoner in England and died in Paris in 1861. With Catherine Hubscher, the wife of Marshal Lefebvre, she served as a model for heroin from the famous Victorian Pièce exhibit. The village is also known for its castle and for the ash chapel, located in the surrounding forest. Built in the th century, following the discovery in a tree of a statue of the Virgin, it was the place of many miracles and pilgrimages.
