This friendly village with a hundred inhabitants is especially famous for its lake of over 90 ha, where you can fish and swim. It was created by monks of Molesmes Abbey in 1239 to be assigned to fish farming. The town of Marcenay is also known for its blast furnace which worked 124 years and for its old coal hall now transformed into a Maison du Terroir. A Felissimo forest is planted in the territory of the municipality: It consists of 4 000 trees offered by a Japanese firm as Corporate patronage.
