Châtillon-sur-Seine is a town of 5,000 inhabitants located halfway between Troyes and Dijon, between Champagne and Burgundy. The first major town on the Seine, it is above all the historic capital of the Châtillonnais region. Close to Mont Lassois, where the famous Vix tomb and vase were discovered in 1953, and an integral part of the Parc National de Forêts, the town has preserved a formidable natural and historical heritage since its origins. That's why Châtillon-sur-Seine has been awarded the "Ville Fleurie" (Flower City) label, as well as the "Plus beaux détours de France" (Most Beautiful Detours in France) label and, finally, the "Ville Impériale" (Imperial City) label in 2020.
