second highest summit of Bolivia after the Nevado Sajama, the Illimani is the most known mountain of Bolivia. From the top of its 6 438 m, it is part of the panorama of La Paz. It is the British climber William M. Conway who climbed it for the first time in 1898. He found there a piece of Aymara rope. The Illimani has four main peaks: Pico del Indio (6109 m), Pico Norte (6403 m), Pico Central (6362 m) and Pico Sur (6438 m) and the complete crossing of the peaks is possible.
