18 km from Potosi. The Sanctuary of Manquiri and its church are among the unknown treasures of Bolivia. Of all the churches in the Bolivian Andes, this one is undoubtedly one of the best preserved and most impressive. To get there, it is possible to rent a taxi for a 4 to 5 hour trip. A bus runs the route on early Sunday mornings from the Mercado Uyuni. If you have rented a car, take the road to Sucre and, after the tollbooth, the first turn-off to the left. Then drive until you see the sign for the sanctuary on the left. Be careful with the hairpin bends..
