Travel Guide Tarapaya

The thermal baths of Tarapaya and the haciendas are great opportunities to escape the cold of the imperial city. Grab your towel and swimsuit and hire a taxi to either Tarapaya or, much further afield, to Chaqui. Tarapaya is a 30 minute taxi ride from the center of Potosi. The lagoon is located in a pleasant area, surrounded by medium-sized mountains. The water should be around 35°C. It is said that the Inca Mayta Capac (1373) and some of his descendants came to bathe here. From Potosi, you can go there by micro from the Chuquimia market or from the Avenida America near the old bus terminal
