This village of barely 50 inhabitants was once an important stop on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, with several hospices and churches serving pilgrims. It marked the last straight line before the ascent of Mount Irago. Today the place has fallen asleep a bit, but of course it still welcomes passing pilgrims. At the entrance to the village, we can see the hermitage of Cristo de la Vera Cruz, which dates from the 18th century. The Church of the Asunción preserves a Romanesque apse from the 12th century. There is a bar, a grocery store and several restaurants.
