Efteling is a magical world brimming with wonderful tales, enchanting dreams and high-speed adventures. With the theme of tales and legends, it is one of the oldest recreational parks in operation since its roots date back to 1935 when two local clerics founded a playground.Officially inaugurated in 1952, he draws inspiration from the work of illustrator Anton Pieck (1895-1987). The origin of the name «Efteling» probably comes from a farm built in the th century called Eersteling. The farm disappeared, but the hamlet inherited its name.Winner of several international awards, Efteling has developed over time, adapting to new technologies and offering today a wide variety of attractions through 4 universes: The wild kingdom "Ruigrijk", the Kingdom of travel "Reizenrijk", the magic kingdom "Marerijk", the alternative kingdom "Anderrijk".Although it is only known in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, it is today one of Europe's largest leisure parks with more than million visitors since its opening. On May 31, 2012, Efteling will celebrate its 60 th anniversary as it has to celebrate the sensational aquatic spectacle, Aquanura. The Aquanura anniversary show will take the form of a magical aquatic ballet, a cocktail of water, fire, music and light.
