This village enjoys a worldwide reputation of prestige thanks to its Burgundy wines with one of the most famous parcels of Gevrey-Chambertin, Les Evocelles, which owe their name to a bushy area called ''Les Brosselles''. It is the most remarkable climate of Brochon, ideally located at the mouth of the combe and at the top of the hillside. The vineyard covers an area of 110 ha. Its wines, including Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertin and Côte-de-Nuits, go well with a local cheese of international renown such as Ami du Chambertin. The village castle was built at the very end of the 19th century, based on the model of Azay-le-Rideau. Rehabilitated in high school, it was the last Renaissance-style castle built in France. Stephen Liégard, a writer and politician, had it built. It is known for being the origin of the name "Côte d'Azur", previously called "Riviera". He also inspired Alphonse Daudet, his contemporary, for the character of the "sub-prefect in the fields", in Letters from my Windmill... The castle is located on an estate that once belonged to the Carthusian monks of Dijon. Also worth seeing is the Brochon windmill, which was commissioned at the end of the 19th century by Stéphen Liégeard to provide the castle with running water. It has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1984 and stands on top of a tank built of cut stone in which rescue divers and firemen train.
