The village's first name was Porquerizas de la Sierra (because it was home to many livestock, especially pigs). Then, Queen Isabella of Bourbon decided to spend a few days here and admired the abundance of flowers. At that time, the village was renamed Miraflores. Located in the Sierra Norte, it is often snow-covered in winter. Today, the village is best known for its fountains and its reputedly pure water. People also come here to admire its poplar tree, which died in the 1980s and is estimated to be over 260 years old. In short, a charming rural getaway to recharge your batteries, just 60 km from the bustling Spanish capital.
