This is the birthplace of Louis Stephen Saint-Laurent, Prime Minister of Canada from 1948 to 1957. A historic site pays tribute to the politician: you can visit his home, discover his father's general store and learn about rural lifestyles at the turn of the 20th century. Compton is also a gourmet paradise, with a wide variety of regional products, including the tasty cheeses from Fromagerie La Station (Économusée de la fromagerie fermière). In autumn, you can go pick-your-own at Le Gros Pierre orchard, or discover the region at the gourmet event Les Comptonales (early October).
