Pandatharippu (Pandattarippu or Pandaththeruppu) is a small village located 18 km northwest of Jaffna. It was here that the American Ceylon Mission (ACM) was established in the 19th century. Reverend John Scudder founded the first western medical centre in Asia here. Pandatharippu includes a few schools founded by the ACM as well as a church and two Hindu temples. However, the place has little tourist interest.
