45 km north of Viña and only a few kilometers from the ocean, Punchucavi is one of the oldest towns in the country. This part of the coast is wilder, quieter. The famous Inca Trail passed through this area whose name derives from the Mapuche "Punchuncahuin" which means "where the festivities end". During the dictatorship, a camp for political prisoners was located here from 1973 to 1976. The villages of El Rincón, La Canela or La Quebrada preserve many picturesque features that will interest adventure tourism lovers. It is possible to practice different activities such as horseback riding, hiking, etc
