41 km north of Viña. The bay was discovered in 1536 by the Andalusian Andalou Alonso de Quintero. The beaches are plentiful, and all the amenities imaginable are at your disposal. The city's discos, moreover, are very much sought by the golden youth of the capital in season. Many families also choose to stay there. There are several options for the traveller to rest on dust from the north or rain from the south. The most famous beach is perhaps Loncura, in the north, perfectly suited for swimming. Albatross (also known as the Base Beach) allows the practice of windsurfing, thanks to a persistent breeze. The surfers find Playa Ritoque (in the south), 12 km long. In the centre of Quintero, the Caleta El Manzano is the rendezvous of the fishermen who sell their products of the day. Picturesque.Further south, from the Playa El Durazno, begins a series of small coves nestled in the hollow of the bay. But don't expect to be alone in the area.In the area of the Cueva El Pirata, all the north of the bay (i. e. the peninsula), it is interesting to observe the «graffiti» of local painter Mario Benavides, who evokes the great personalities of our century. A trail leads there from the north of Avenue 21 of Mayo. From the small bay of Puntilla Sanfuentes, sunsets are truly beautiful.
