Zwolle is a beautiful city located 80 kilometers north of Amsterdam. It is the capital of the province Overijssel. The city has more than 130,000 inhabitants and is the 19th largest municipality in the Netherlands. It was once part of the Hanseatic League as early as 1448 and experienced a great expansion as a result. Zwolle is of tourist and historical interest. Zwolle was occupied by the Germans in June 1940 and was liberated on April 14, 1945 by Leo Major, a Canadian of the Chaudière regiment. It is a city that must be discovered and a nice entry in this matter is the incredible museum De Fundatie which symbolizes the city.
