South of Don Det, Don Khone is bigger than its neighbor. And also more quiet. To get there, you can simply walk across the old French bridge. Its main village, Ban Khone, is home to a few French colonial houses, some renovated, others more or less dilapidated. Further southwest is another village: Ban Khone Tai and its monastery Vat Khon Tai built on the site of an ancient Khmer temple dating from the Chenla period. Some vestiges still remain: blocks of laterite and some pediments and columns. The island is known for its production of coconuts, bamboo and kapok (insulating material).
