The village of Mäetaguse, with its 512 inhabitants, is a charming little town. The main advantage of the place is that there is a hiking trail nearby through forest and marshland. Ask for information at the Hiking Club! Eugenius Octave von Rosen had the manor house rebuilt in 1796 as a neoclassical manor house. The small neo-Gothic family burial chapel is located at the back of the park, 3 km from the manor house, and is now in ruins. The manor house now houses the municipal services and the former stables, the hotel. The castle is surrounded by a park of 10 hectares. Concerts and theatrical performances are regularly held there
