Itá letra means "text of the rock" in Jopará. The site is located in Tororõ, in the Ybytyruzú mountain range, 18 km from Villarrica, on the Tapé Avirú, the sacred path of the Earth without Evil. It houses dozens of mysterious drawings carved into the rock. These petroglyphs, some of which are believed to be more than 7,000 years old, have not yet been deciphered and their origin remains unknown. The hypothesis put forward by some authors that these inscriptions are of Viking origin is now clearly rejected by archaeologists. Similar petroglyphs are found in the department of Amambay, towards Cerro Corá, in the north of the country. Ask the Senatur de Villarrica for information on how to get there with a guide.
