Sapucái means "the cry" in Guarani. In 1890, Sapucái station became one of the most important stations of the Carlos A line. López, because that's where the train repair shops were located. The railway district, Villa Inglesa, has about thirty houses more than a hundred years old, where English engineers used to live. Today, old locomotives and wagons lie in the grass and a visit to the "train cemetery" offers a little trip back in time. It has a bit of the atmosphere of the novel Son of Man by Augusto Roa Bastos. Next to it is the first "viaduct" in South America, over which trains used to pass in the past. To get there, frequent buses from Paraguarí (24 km), direction Villarrica.
