There is not much to see in Little Compton, except a picturesque village of great beauty. With 3,500 souls, there is a typical New England atmosphere, between tranquility and a gentle way of life. The village has a small sandy beach, South Shore Beach. Strolling through its Historic District, you can admire a few Victorian-style homes, and you may come across its old cemetery, which contains graves dating from the Civil War. From Newport, it's a little over 30 minutes drive to this farming village, where marshland borders the manicured plots.
