With a population of nearly 17,000, Laconia is one of the most populated stations on Lake Winnipesaukee, located on its left bank almost across from Wolfeboro. It is also one of the most popular: for decades, the town has been welcoming every summer high-class vacationers from all over New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Not far from Laconia, Weirs Beach is one of the most famous and popular beaches in the region. One comes to walk along its main street, which is very lively in summer. While in Laconia, you can visit the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum, the city museum housed in a historic mansion, whose collections are dedicated to the lake
