In the valley of the river Blees, a tributary of the Sûre, Brandenburg is a charming and picturesque village. It is dominated by the ruins of its fortified castle dating from the 9th and 13th centuries, the main tourist site in the area. Almost at the top, the remains of two square towers, surrounded by a low belt of rounded ramparts, remain. The site can be discovered by following a trail with explanatory panels. From whichever side one turns, the landscape gives an impression of wild nature and forest, if not the village itself, which has old farms and a beautiful church dating from 1350, with an altar in late Baroque style
