Pristina is a special case in the Balkans. First of all, it is the capital of the youngest European state, since Kosovo declared its independence in 2008. But it is also the only capital of the Balkan peninsula that does not present any major tourist interest: one can very well visit Kosovo without passing through Pristina. Only the surroundings of the capital are really worth the detour with the site of the battle of Kosovo Polje (1389) and the superb Serbian Orthodox monastery of the Middle Ages of Gračanica, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We also don't recommend sleeping in Pristina, where hotels are much more expensive than in the rest of the country. That said, the capital has some assets with its many restaurants and its rather rich nightlife... This is especially true in summer, when the streets of the city come alive with the return of Albanians from the Kosovar diaspora.
