The Uvac canyon is a major and unique site in Europe. The Uvac River meanders for more than a kilometer, cutting its way through the rocky walls to form the second deepest canyon in the country, after the Tara Canyon. Its unique beauty is as much about the canyon and its nature as it is about its unique meanders The river twists and turns so much that from a bird's eye view, it looks like a road winding its way up the mountain! Moreover, a dense forest, adorned with a thousand colors in autumn and spring, covers the surrounding massifs. Old mountains and deep valleys form a particularly striking landscape. Here you can follow a unique ecological and cultural route. The entire area is classified as a nature reserve. Rare trees such as the Pančić pine and the weeping beech are protected here, as well as endangered animal species such as the wolf or the bear. But above all, more than 150 species of birds find refuge here; moreover, the emblematic figure of Uvac is the beloglavi sup, an eagle with a wingspan of up to 2.80 m, recognizable by its white head and brown plumage. Thanks to the action of some associations, 80 couples have been protected here. It is necessary to see them spinning, wings spread, around the meanders of the Uvac, and to go to land on a culminating point inaccessible to the man. Then continue to Božetići, but before entering the village, take the road to the left at the Y - beware, no signs are given! After 8 km on a red dirt road, you will reach the traditional village of Štitkovo.
