Mazgit/Мазгит has 2,800 inhabitants, almost all of them Albanians, and belongs to the municipality of Obiliq/Obilić (population 20,000). The town is located 10 km northwest of Pristina. This suburb of Pristina is a sight to behold, situated between the R7 highway and the ultra-polluting power plants of Obiliq/Obilić. But Mazgit is best known for its historical sites, since it was here that the famous battle of Kosovo Polje took place on June 15, 1389. To come here, do not follow the direction of the village of Kosovo Polje(Fushë Kosovë in Albanian): this new locality (1921) is located 7 km southwest of Pristina.
