Want to move from a megalopolis to another big city? Head for La Plata, about 60 km southeast of Buenos Aires, a city not very popular with foreign tourists. The 730,000 inhabitants who live there are always proud to remind us that it is the capital of the province of Buenos Aires. You can stop there for half a day on the way to Mar del Plata to visit its two museums, especially the exceptional MACLA, and to enjoy its restaurants before heading back to the road. For the anecdote: the city was built like a perfect square, divided by parallel streets crossing each other at right angles.
