Located north of the delta, beyond the NG18, this concession is administratively open to both photographic and hunting safaris, but the African Bush Camps, Sun Destinations and Wilderness companies that operate in this territory have chosen to give way only to the pleasure of the eye. This concession, known as Linyanti, covers an area of 1,250 square kilometers and has large mopane forests on its dry lands to the south and west. The Linyanti River and its adjacent marshes and lagoons form its northern edge for about 50 km. The floodplain grassland along the banks of the Linyanti gives way to groves of willows and other small shrubs on its raised banks, followed by classic riparian forests. Larger trees, such as African ebony, sausage, mango, and caper trees, are found here. Finally, far from the water, we discover the forests of mopanes and baobabs. This concession is crossed from west to east, in its center, by the bed of the Savuti Channel, dried up since 1980, but which, on this concession, resumed its course in 2008. This was a small revolution for all the fauna along the river, which had to adapt quickly to this new balance and to the arrival of new predators. Like Selinda, this concession is rich in birds, both resident and migratory, populating the forests along the water's edge. All lodges in the concession are operated by Wilderness Safaris and are by reservation only. Two airstrips serve them. Departures are from Maun or Kasane. No self-drive arrivals are permitted.
