Port Moody is part of what is known as the Tri-City Region, an area of urban development in conjunction with the two neighbouring cities of Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam. A city of the arts, Port Moody is also known as "Little Whistler"; its mountainous setting with Eagle Mountain as a backdrop, its access to the Indian Arm and its majestic fjord, and its parks are popular with residents and tourists alike. The Belcarra Regional Park and the Buntzen Recreation Area offer fishing (fish, crabs) and diving. A pleasant stopover to rent a boat and sail the Burrard Inlet or simply walk around enjoying the tranquility of the area.
