Travel Guide Richmond

The city of Richmond has recently experienced an economic boom, with a massive influx of wealthy immigrants from Hong Kong and Taiwan. These recent immigrants are said to have chosen to settle within walking distance of the airport because of the low cost of taxes and the city's very name, "Rich - world," which is supposed to bring good luck (referring to wealth). The city now has the highest concentration of Asians in the country, hence its nickname Asia West. Shopping being a real sport for Hong Kongers, shopping centres have really sprouted up like mushrooms in recent years. So much so that Richmond is now home to the largest Asian shopping district in America, after San Francisco.
