East of this northern part of Vancouver, across the Second Narrows Bridge on Highway 1, Mount Seymour Provincial Park offers a breathtaking view of the region at 1,508 metres. There is much more to do than climb to the top, including mountain biking, picnicking and hiking trails (accessible to all levels and good for spotting local wildlife including eagles, bears, etc.). Lynn Headwaters Park (to the west) is proof that the wilderness is just outside Vancouver. Don't miss the old mill from 1908 and especially a natural heart-shaped pool!
