Steveston is an old fishing village founded in 1880 by William Herbert Steves. This quaint little harbour, 20 minutes from downtown Vancouver, is now a very pleasant destination for a day trip. You can watch the constant flow of fishing boats in the harbour, dine on a deck overlooking the marina, or visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, a former fish cannery, a very important industry for the region in the late 19th century. In addition, Steveston was the location for the television series Once upon a time.
