At the southernmost point of Maui's west coast, Maalaea is organized around the village, its harbor (Maalaea Harbor Village) and its aquarium, the Maui Ocean Center, which is the main center of interest of the town, which is above all a residential area. To eat, snack bars and restaurants can be found in the Maui Ocean Center or in the Maalaea Harbor Village. For activities, head to Maalaea Harbor to take part in a snorkeling trip to Molokini, sport fishing, a sunset cruise or whale-watching from January to mid-April. The town can be reached via Highway 30.
