In the heart of the fabulous Assynt region, Lochinver is a quiet coastal town full of charm. Its harbor is one of the country's major ports and its backdrop is absolutely stunning, with some 200 lochs and some of Scotland's most popular peaks. Suilven (731 m), Stac Pollaidh (612 m), Quinag (808 m) and Cul Mor (849 m) are just a few, in the distant shadow of the colossal Ben More Assynt (998 m). Eas a' Chual Aluinn, the highest waterfall in Britain (200 m), is also not far from here (difficult 10 km walk). The George Rapson Travel 809 bus takes you to Ullapool in 1 hour.
