From the Gaelic word for "little loch", the village of Gairloch is a delightful coastal destination, nestled at the head of a bay and close to beautiful scenery. Coming here is a wonderful visit in itself, but there are many other charms waiting for you upon arrival. The coastline is a major asset of the region, with beautiful beaches at Red Point and Big Sand, as well as a multitude of romantic coves. To the northwest, the cliffs take center stage, especially at the tip of Rua Rheid. Loch Maree and Corrieshalloch Gorge are also worth seeing. The Westerbus 705 takes you to Torridon in 1 hour and the 700 takes you to Inverness in 2.5 hours.
