A not confused with the ancient Caulonia and its famous archaeological site of the same name, near Monasterace. It is a large agricultural and industrial area with a population of about thousand inhabitants, perched on the hillside about a dozen kilometres from the Ionian coast. The city retains some testimonies of its past. The Marina de Caulonia is very tourist and there are various water sports.
