Travel Guide Tricase

Inland, 4 km from Tricase Porto, it is a town known for its tobacco production, which offers a remarkable view of the Salento coast. It is also worth visiting the Gallone Palace, a 14th century fortress that was converted into a princely residence in 1661 but still has two corner towers. Today, the building houses the Municipio. The Chiesa Matrice has a baroque facade and inside there is a beautiful 18th century pulpit and works by prestigious painters: Veronese, Palma the Younger and Paolo Finoglio. On the road to the port there is also a monumental oak tree called "Quercia Vallonea", which is about 900 years old.
