Dorado has long wanted to become the equivalent of Isla Verde, but a little more upscale, in the suburbs of San Juan. After a rapid tourist takeoff in the 1970s, the site experienced many difficulties in attracting vacationers. However, the area has regained favor with tourists, especially with its excellent golf complex and luxury hotels. Dorado also has a beautiful beachfront, with popular beaches (Kikita and El Ojo del Buey). Don't miss the trail that leads to the wild point of El Ojo. Finally, Dorado also has some very good restaurants (Robo Asador, El Ladrillo and Coa-Ritz Carlton) to discover.
