The capital of the Danyi prefecture, the town is nestled at an altitude of about 800 m on the Dayes plateau. To get there from Adéta, a road, in very poor condition, climbs through the Assimé forest, classified since 1953. Further on, on the left, a sign indicates the club of Gérard Bosson, one of the pioneers of paragliding (1943-2017) who rests in the village of N'Digbe, where one can still fly. Danyi Apéyémé hosts a lively market every Friday, with many fruit, vegetable, meat and ready-to-wear stalls. There are also a few bars, a restaurant, a gas station and a small pharmacy in town.
