A pretty village on a huge lake. With its smaragdine waters, Walchensee has been designed for summer bathing. As with Kochel am See, Walchensee is both the name of a small village of 500 souls 30 km northeast of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the name of a lake. The road linking the two lakes is called Kesselbergstrasse, and its scenery is breathtaking!
