A beautiful castle with a fortress that has a long manor history. Built by the Stubenberg, he fell into the coffers of the Count of Mattersburg-Forchtenstein and was sold in 1353 to Ulrich de Pergau, whose wife, once becoming a widow, gave it to Rudolf von Stadeck. Rudolf's heir, Guta von Stadeck, sold him in 1399 to Hugo de Montfort, his fiancé, who gave the castle, seventeen years after, to the counts of Saurau. Two centuries later, the castle échut to the abbots of Vorau, to which it owes its present appearance. Among his most admirable works are the frescoes of the various chapels and the church of Sainte-Catherine.
