35 km south of Prague, Slapy is the name given to the dam that separates the Vltava River from a large reservoir, 44 km long and containing 270 million cubic metres of water. Its main function is to protect Prague from flooding, but also to entertain the many holidaymakers during the summer period. The road along the Prague Vltava separates the river from a thick, green forest. Today Slapy is a popular destination for the Prague bourgeoisie, as well as Czech and Dutch campers who have been spreading the word for several years. And you're welcome to it! A paradise less than an hour from Prague with its crystal clear waters, numerous islands on the lake, numerous water sports and boat trips.
