Located 2 km from Terezín, the town of Litoměřice is worth a visit, if only to experience the contrast with its neighbor. You will enter it from the bridge over the Elbe River, on the banks of which the city grows. The thousand-year-old history of the city can be seen in its elegant silhouette where houses, palaces and churches of Renaissance and Baroque architecture alternate. The large square, oblong in shape, dates from the expansion of the city between 1350 and 1375. At the same time, the city walls were built, of which important fragments are excellent testimonies of the fortified architecture of the 14th century. It is a beautiful and lively little town.
