Brighton is a lively seaside resort on the English Channel, south of London in Sussex. Brighton is known for its vast black pebble beach, its Belle Époque buildings and Brighton Pier, a leisure complex built in 1899. It was the arrival of the railroad in 1841, bringing Brighton within reach of Londoners for a day trip, that brought the destination out of obscurity. It is also a university town, popular with students from all over the world for its English language schools. Some of the pleasures of a Brighton getaway include vintage shopping in the boutiques of North Laine, the city's bohemian district, strolling through the most beautiful street art murals, admiring the sumptuous Royal Pavilion, walking along the waterfront and lounging on the beach, having fun at the pier's funfair, and eating fish and chips in a pub overlooking the English Channel.

When to go to Brighton?
You can stay in Brighton from April to October, but if you are looking for sunshine and a "warm" sea, wait until June and know that the water temperature is best in September. The months of July and August, as well as the weekends in May, are very busy and the prices go up. Summer is punctuated by various festivals. In the off-season, from November to March, many tourist establishments close their doors and there is very little activity, but this can have a certain charm and allows you to relax and get good rates. The Christmas season is also very busy with Christmas lights and Christmas markets.
