A former holiday destination for the Royal Family, Brighton is the seaside resort of choice for Londoners. Just 1 hour by train from Victoria station, it offers many a chance to escape the stresses of the week and soak up the sun on its beaches in summer. The city is a hive of activity, from students to the large gay community, who find plenty to do in the many bars and clubs. The cultural and gastronomic scene is equally varied. In May, during the Brighton Festival, the city hosts music, dance, theater and circus performances, as well as the big children's parade on the first Saturday of the month.

When to go to Brighton?

You can stay in Brighton from April to October, but if you are looking for sunshine and a "warm" sea, wait until June and know that the water temperature is best in September. The months of July and August, as well as the weekends in May, are very busy and the prices go up. Summer is punctuated by various festivals. In the off-season, from November to March, many tourist establishments close their doors and there is very little activity, but this can have a certain charm and allows you to relax and get good rates. The Christmas season is also very busy with Christmas lights and Christmas markets.
