Folkestone is the town that houses the exit of the famous Channel Tunnel, which allows trains to travel between France and England. For the rest, it is a very quiet seaside town, whose town centre still has a few narrow streets dating back to medieval times. Its Creative Quarter gathers interesting shops and cafés around Old High Street and the small port is nice, with its long dike from where you can enjoy beautiful views of the cliffs. Folkestone is an essential stopover when crossing the Channel. Some will decide to linger there for an evening or a few days.
